Like most areas, owners of La Mirada Homes have some great community services available to them. The La Mirada Activity Center is a facility that hosts a wide variety of activies and programs. It is also a place for youth and adults to participate in educational opportunities. The Activity Center is located at 13810 La Mirada Boulevard.
Owners of La Mirada Homes and their family may participate in bingo, cards, dominoes, billiards, cooking classes and weekly movies. The Activity Center also offers residents of La Mirada Homes numerous fitness programs. There is Gentle Exercise, chair walking, a senior citizen stretching program as well as a balance and mobility program. They even offer blood pressure and hearing tests.
If you are a resident of La Mirada Homes and need assistance with counseling, social security, tax preparation, housing assistance, etc. you can get that from the Activity Center as well. The Center also hosts a number of educational seminars on various important topics.
The Cafe on the Green also offers lunches Monday through Friday for a discounted rate of $2.00. They even offer home delivered meals for the same suggested donation of $2.00. There is also the La Mirada Meals on Wheels Program. Volunteers deliver food directly to the homes of interested parties using the volunteer’s car. This program allows the elderly, disabled or chronically ill to remain self-sufficient.
